The Lagos Book and Art Festival comes
up every year at the Freedom Park, Lagos, Nigeria and this year's edition is the 16th. LABAF is organised
by CORA (Committee for Relevant Art).
IRAWO Drumline will teach the children talking drums, folktales and folk-songs under CATE
(Children and the environment), an advocacy NGO owned by aunty Adesola Arit
Alamutu (Madam Green).
Aside from these, there will also be poetry,dance, fine art and creative writing workshops for the children.
Bring your children to Freedom Park from 14th to the 16th of November, 2014 and let them share in the fun.
- First aid box: This should be kept in a conspicuous place but away from the reach of the children preferably, it should be hung on the wall with the inscription,'First Aid Box'. It should contain drugs and syrups for you and the children,cotton wool, plasters,spirit and of cause hand sanitizers.It could also serve as a learning device for your children.
- Fire extinguisher:This should be conspicuously placed in your kitchen but out of the reach of your children.Once it is used, make plans to replace it.
- Stationery: Biro,pen,pencils,stapler,perforating machine,paper tape,gum,super glue,transparent tape-for repairing torn currency and your children's torn notes and text books,envelopes for giving out money as gifts all neatly kept in a drawer or case.
- Sewing Kit:This should contain threads of different colours and needles of different sizes,tape rule,scissors,buttons, etc to mend your buttons, tears and loose seams and those of your children and husband.
- Ziploc: For storing meat and fried fish in the freezer and for neatly packing takeaways for your guests.
- Pegs:They should be neatly stored in a basket to disallow rust.They are necessary to keep clothes in place on the line and for preventing ants and insects from getting into open bags of tomatoes,curry,etc.
