RISE - The Error in the Music Soundtrack

Rise (c) Wikipedia

RISE (2022) is based on the real-life story of the Antetokounmpo (Adetokunbo) family from Nigeria and Greece that produced the first trio of brothers to become NBA championships in the history of the league.

Starring:

Dayo Okeniyi

Yetide Agada

Joke Silver

Kemi Lala Akindoju

Uche Agada

Ral Agada

The film is distributed by Disney

The story, script, cinematography, lighting, costume, setting, casting and other film elements are on point.

The soundtracks such as ᚢeun Rere by Christie Essien Igbokwe and other songs were synchronized with the scenes in the appropriate years.

What is off in this biopic is the soundtrack choice of SCATTER by Fireboy DML when Giamis Antetokounmpo entered into the basketball arena to begin his tryouts for onward drafting into the NBA in 2013.

SCATTER was released in 2019.

SCATTER is a wrong song choice for this scene.

If the producer was looking for a hit song, I can name ten hit songs of 2013 that could have fitted that scene.

They are:

1. Durosoke by Olamide

2. Skelewu by Davido

3. Limpopo by KCee

4. Gobe by Davido

5. Personally by P-Square

6. Ghost Mode by Phyno and Olamide

7. Eminado by Tiwa Savage ft Don Jazzy

8. Ada Ada by Flavour

9. Surulere by Dr Sid ft Don Jazzy

10. Sho Lee by Sean Tizzle

Even the choice of songs need to be narrowed down to the month and day of occurrences.

A biopic needs all the meticulous planning as dates are of importance in this film genre.

I also realized that this film had a music editor, original scorer and music preparer but no music supervisor.

I guess the loophole came from here.

I am a MUSIC SUPERVISOR and I can provide this service in your future film projects to near perfection.
